Publisher’s Summary
When parents send their children off to college, Mom and Dad hope they’ll return more cultivated, knowledgeable, and astute - able to see issues from all points of view. But, according to Ben Shapiro, there’s only one view allowed on most college campuses: a rabid brand of liberalism that must be swallowed hook, line, and sinker.
In this explosive exposé, Ben Shapiro, a UCLA graduate, reveals how America’s university system is one of the largest brainwashing machines on the planet. Examining this nationwide problem from firsthand experience, Shapiro shows how the leftists who dominate the universities - from the administration to the student government, from the professors to the student media - use their power to mold impressionable minds.
Fresh and bitterly funny, this book proves that the universities, far from being a place for open discussion, are really dungeons of the mind that indoctrinate students to become socialists, atheists, race baiters, and narcissists.

I know my “note” above will trigger some of you snowflakes. So consider this a “Safe Space” and feel free to whine below, I will be filling my “liberal tears tumbler” to the brim. :-)

Nice to see someone actually investigating this. Has been happening since the 60’s and I had much enjoyment telling my HS History teacher that if she can’t teach facts she should choose another subject. 3 times to the Principals office and 3 apologies.

wtf is a race baiter?? sounds like that kinda person just gives out random hand jobs to a certain race of people…. or is it a random race and person every time? these are the real questions one should be pondering.

If business just trained their own employees this would not be a problem. University has always been a elitist organization. Now due to being lazy business wants university to train their employees. So if you don’t like what they teach you have no choice but to suck it up. Mabey instead of complaining about university. You should tell business to start training their employees themselves. This way they get what they want with out all the garage.

@ Roddd
AGREED… The far left has been slowly “Brainwashing” the youth of America for close to 50 years and we are now seeing the results as they gain positions of power in the Tech industry, media, academia, and entertainment…. The future is VERY bleak for America if we don’t start shedding some light on the inconsistencies in their ideologies, and changing some minds on who the REAL ‘Fascists’ are…..

Claims that current University Professors believe that pedophilia is acceptable and bestiality is fine. And you’re contending that this is a serious book and not an absurdist farce? Really?

Translation - educated people don’t vote for Trump therefore education is bad. Good luck thickos trying to cope in a world full of people as stupid as you.

Speaking as someone who considers himself liberal, and probably would be considered by far-right people to be far-left, I will just say this…
Schools need to take a hard look in the mirror. When it comes to some classes and subjects, like hard sciences, I understand why there is a right answer. My degree was a lib arts degree, and I was shocked how little people were encouraged to think for themselves. Instead of cultivating critical thinking, they cultivated memorization and right answers to questions that were highly subjective. People who saw something from a different angle, or just an angle the professor was uncomfortable with, were shut down if not made an example of in attempted and sometimes successful humiliation.
I think both extreme ends of the spectrum have lost sight of the necessity of hearing people out and considering the opposition’s reasoning, even if you think it’s ridiculous. I’m pro Ben Shapiro because, while I vehemently disagree with him on a number of things (and I can spot a few plot holes a mile away in some of his arguments), he always attempts to root is arguments in logic. At the very least, chewing on some different perspectives keeps me sharp. Feeling the way I feel is perfectly acceptable, but it’s also nice to think it through and know the logical reasons beyond the feelings.
Debate really should be a required class. Students should be forced to take positions they don’t naturally take. Otherwise I think we may reach a point where people, no matter which “side” they’re on will feel it’s just to never put themselves in another’s shoes and that just makes for small-minded nonsense no matter what flavor the nonsense comes in.
I do think it’s ironic (if Sameasy’s comment is true) that right leaning people complain about the insinuations and accusations of racism when they want to discuss race relations instead of blindly agree with someone because of their skin color… but then they try to shut liberals up by throwing out the accusations and insinuations that liberals are condoning criminal acts just because they are willing to discuss/attempt understanding of things that make some (if not most) uncomfortable.
PS- Of all the complaints I have about my education, I’ve never heard anyone state an opinion that was pro-pedo or bestiality… and I took a course of deviant behavior. It was surprisingly tame.
PSS- I keep my liberal tears and conservative tears in the same tumbler. Considering they’re essentially the same person: someone who can’t stand that anyone exists that doesn’t totally agree with them on everything. I’ve had to slay both dragons, sadly.

I am just a bit confused with this:
“I respect your right to DISAGREE with the author, SO PLEASE respect my right to AGREE and keep your hateful comments to yourself. If you can’t, that is your right and I AGREE with that as well, and feel free to express them. To those on the FAR left, I KNOW that is a foreign idea, but some of us DO think like that.”
and
“I know my “note” above will trigger some of you snowflakes. So consider this a “Safe Space” and feel free to whine below, I will be filling my “liberal tears tumbler” to the brim. :-)”
So what’s the point of respecting other people’s opinion but called them snowflakes and whiners, that need a safe space? Just as a hypothesis, maybe you need a safe space for whine about how the big bad liberals tried to indoctrinate you at the university… Either way, I am going to listen to the audiobook, since you need to know the arguments of your opponent to defeat them (something that the university teaches!)

@Roddd I hope it was them apologising to you & not the other way round?

Thanks for the book, Vamps - I sincerely hope it spreads light rather than darkness.
The politicisation of knowledge defeats the very purpose of education.
The Humanities/Liberal Arts used to be about teaching and learning the very best that had been thought, said and written. In order to develop critical thinking skills and perpetuate traditional, cultural excellence.
Now, that very tradition is scorned by people who do not understand it, and would be entirely incapable of replicating its achievements.
Transmitting postmodernism, relativism and nihilism is not education, by any true definition of the term. It leaves to posterity a heap of ashes. Hopefully, this will prove to be a temporary, vacuous phase. Every “ism” is destined to become a “wasm” and people will rediscover the greatness of the past, as they did during the Renaissance. It’s just a shame that the universities are supposed to facilitate this, rather than hinder it. The university system was established during the so-called “Dark Ages” to spread light, instead of more darkness and ignorance.
We have to think for ourselves, rather than use cultural-Marxism as our sole interpretive tool.

Ben Shapiro is changing minds by his rational facts over feelings methodology.

“Article 19
1. Everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference.
2. Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice.
3. The exercise of the rights provided for in paragraph 2 of this article carries with it special duties and responsibilities. It may therefore be subject to certain restrictions, but these shall only be such as are provided by law and are necessary:
(a) For respect of the rights or reputations of others;
(b) For the protection of national security or of public order (ordre public), or of public health or morals.
Article 20
1. Any propaganda for war shall be prohibited by law.
2. Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law.” - International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
“In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society.” - Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Free speech doesn’t mean unlimited. As soon as your free speech impinges on the freedoms and welfare of others it will be rightfully curtailed. Freedom of speech doesn’t mean anarchy.

Crikey, Mria! For a minute there I thought I was being subpoenaed!
October 9th, 2018
A little food for thought, caesar963. Just a little food for thought.
October 9th, 2018
And very much appreciated at that, Mria.
I think a latitudinarian approach to free expression is preferable - let Truth and Falsehood contend, as that Milton bloke said. Now there was a guy who could put words together. No safe spaces back in the 17th Century, no sirree.
October 20th, 2018
“To those on the FAR left, I KNOW that is a foreign idea, but some of us DO think like that.”
Propaganda doesn’t deserve a platform. I know that social contagion is an idea foreign to the same people that rail against education (for their followers, not for their own) but some of us ARE aware and on guard for it.
December 12th, 2018
Lots of bigoted liberals in here. We should be able to disagree and be civil. Trying to write off free speech as ‘propaganda’ and ‘hate speech’ is what every hate group in history has done. Free speech laws exist to protect the speech you don’t like, if it was only to protect the speech you like they would not be necessary in the first place.
Thanks for the upload and thank you to everyone who disagreed and managed to do it like a mature adult and not a child having a tantrum.
January 19th, 2019
Thanks so much for the upload. I’ve admired Ben’s logical explanations of leftist versus liberal along with other stances he has taken. I’ll be listening to this one at work this week!
February 15th, 2019
An effort worth appreciating on Ben’s part, that too done in this age of repressed and dictated thinking. If there are more than one solution to mathematical problems, how could there be only one to more subjective questions covered by the social sciences?
It would seem as if people, in an attempt to uphold the rights of the earlier downtrodden, have turned equality into preferential treatment for their descendants. A moral edict meant to subsume the ’sins’ of the past that they were in no way a party of.
