I don’t believe that the description by the poster is accurate. According to my research (see https://audiobookstore.com/audiobooks/blackberry-wine.aspx), this is actually an abridged recording, which would make more sense given the short length of 3h25m vs the printed book size of 368 pages. Also note that this is a reading of the (abridged) original British publication of the novel, which was apparently re-edited heavily for later North American publication.
